Service Audit
Observed supply, data quality and operational comparisons of municipal transport.
30-day public overview
What the available data shows

This overview measures observed supply and record quality. It does not measure demand, capacity, or regulatory punctuality. See how metrics are calculated.

- Routes The table highlights the most critical routes first and lets you filter by route number.
- Attention index The index combines only available evidence and is empty when fewer than three families can be compared.
- Estimates Headway, supply and reliability help compare operations, but do not measure capacity, passenger demand or exact arrival time.

Service Gaps
Hours from 06:00 to 23:00 when the fleet was below 20% of the route's daily median, indicating a possible service gap.
| Date | Mode | Reduced service hours | Average fleet/day | Qty |
|---|
Headway adherence
Shows how closely the active fleet followed the route's historical pattern. Hours more than 60% below the reference are flagged.
| Date | Time | Observed fleet | Reference | Headway |
|---|
Scheduled service days
Compares historical data with the days on which the route should operate and flags possible service failures.
| Date | Day | Type of violation | Active vehicles |
|---|
Operator comparison
Compares average performance across consortia (Internorte, Intersul, Santa Cruz, Transcarioca) or individual operators.
| Operator | Routes | Average supply | Gap Rate |
|---|
Weekly Trend
Compares the last seven days with the previous seven for all routes and classifies them as improving, stable, or deteriorating.

| Route | Previous fleet | Current fleet | Supply change |
|---|
Improving
| Route | Previous fleet | Current fleet | Supply change |

Garage Audit
Proportion of vehicles currently in garage by operator. During operational hours (6am–11pm Rio time), Operators with more than 40% of their fleet stopped are flagged.
| Operator | Total | In garage | % garage | Status |
|---|
Peak vs. Off-Peak
Ratio between the average fleet at peak (06:00–09:00 and 17:00–20:00 Rio time) and off-peak. Routes above 1.3 add substantial peak supply; values below 1.1 indicate little change.
Service Span (Start and End Time)
First and last hour with active fleet per day. Compares each day to the typical pattern — flags "late start" and "premature end."
| Date | Start | End | Anomaly |
|---|
Inactive routes
Officially registered routes with no buses observed for several days.
| Route | Last activity | Inactive days | Operator | Consortium |
|---|
Weekdays vs. weekends
Compares daily averages between weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Crosses with serviceDays to differentiate expected pause from service failure.
| Type of day | Days sampled | Average fleet | Days without operation |
|---|
Statistical Anomalies
Detects days when the fleet is far above or below the route's usual level (z-score above 2). Useful for finding unusual days without manual inspection.
| Date | Fleet | Z-score | Type |
|---|
Reporting delay by operator
Current snapshot: % of the fleet with fresh, delayed (stale) or missing (missing) GPS by operator.
| Operator | Total | Fresh | Late | Absent | % Stale |
|---|
Route adherence
Vehicles currently more than N meters away from the official route of their route (ignores buses in garages).
| Route | Observed fleet | Off route | % | Examples (plate, distance) |
|---|
Stop coverage (snapshot)
Shows what percentage of a route's official stops have a bus within the selected distance, and lists the most isolated stops.
| Stop | Distance to the nearest bus (m) |
|---|
Estimated interval between buses
Estimates the typical time between buses using the fleet observed on the route and the predicted route. It is a supply comparison, not an arrival prediction for a stop.
