Four different questions
First, was the vehicle licensed and equipped with air conditioning? Second, was the system turned on? Third, did it operate at sufficient capacity? Fourth, was the internal temperature within the defined standard? A statistic can answer only one of these questions.
The age of the fleet, maintenance, open doors, capacity and external conditions change the perceived result.
How City Hall monitors compliance
SMTR links air conditioning to subsidies and the IQT. Published rules allow trip payments to be canceled when air conditioning is found to be switched off and require temperature sensors in vehicles licensed with the equipment.
Automated monitoring sends internal and external temperatures to the Secretariat. It expands coverage, but still depends on the sensor being installed, calibrated, identified and transmitting correctly.
How to register an incident
Central 1746 has a specific service for broken or leaking air conditioning. The report must include a description, route, date, time, and, whenever possible, the vehicle number.
- Do not just register the plate if the order number is visible.
- Report if the equipment appeared to be off, without power, or leaking.
- Avoid estimating temperature without an instrument; describe the observed condition.
- Save the protocol and response.
